Raspberry chia jam

RASPBERRY CHIA SEED JAM

Raspberry chia seed jam is a healthy and delicious alternative to store-bought jam. It’s easy to make and uses fresh ingredients that you won’t feel guilty about. If you think making homemade jam is difficult, think again. Say hello to this all-natural, healthy and yummy chia seed jam. It’s rich, sweet, and has the perfect gel-like consistency.

It’s filled with nutrient-dense and fiber-rich chia seeds (which naturally thicken it up) and the only sweetener is a small amount of pure honey. But if you want to make this with other sweeter fruits, who are naturally sweet enough already, you won’t even need additional sweetener.

Making your own jam does not require a lot of time or a lot of sugar it’s done in less than five minutes. It is healthy and also good for your gut bacteria. Mine is sweetened with honey and thickens with the help of chia seeds and not pectin. Of course, you can sweeten it with sugar if you prefer. Otherwise, you can choose maple syrup, agave, coconut sugar, birch sugar, or mashed fruits like mango. I have chosen to use honey because I think it tastes the nicest and you get the believed additional health benefits. I don’t like my jam too sweet so you might want to add more honey. It’s a matter of taste.

What are chia seeds?

Chia seeds are a super seed and are used in porridge, pudding, topping, baking, smoothies, or power bars. The seeds are naturally gluten-free and contain a high content of dietary fiber, protein, and omega 3. Originally, they come from South America and a few years back have become a trend in Sweden among food enthusiasts. These are available in almost all major grocery stores.

I served this chia jam with yogurt, on bread, with pancakes, and many other ways. Hope you’ll like it too!
